The Ratio Institute is proud to welcome all members, guests and fellows to the 2009 regional meeting of the Mont Pelerin Society on the theme "The Market Economy in the Welfare State" in Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting will take place August 16-19, 2009.
We are happy to report that Professor James Buchanan, the 1986 recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, will be the first speaker at the meeting.
The meeting has a special ambition to attract top academic scholars as speakers, with original contributions, and to make younger scholars part of the general program. We believe that this profile is in line with the original intentions and traditions of the MPS.

The program ends with a Gala Dinner in the Golden Room at the City Hall on the evening of August 19.
